The intent of the logo was to inspire nostalgia for San Francisco's historic structures and produce a sense of pride in the beauty of the city's built environment. The "Yes on J" sign featured San Francisco's historic Ferry Building, which was once the center of the City's working port but which fell into disuse and was only recently rehabilitated into a marketplace that draws locals and tourists alike. The Ferry Building image served as an example of successful historic preservation in San Francisco. ![]() |
