I purchased the 0049 practice test from ETS but I am curious about content of the oo49 praxis test! Is there anyone who has taken this test, and can recommend a good study guide? I purchased the Cliffnotes study guide, the REA study guide, AND the ETS retired test. It looks like I missed some questions on poetry analysis and some basic grammer questions(appositives) when I calculated my score. HELP! I take this in March and I want it to be the last time I ever take this test!

For the poetry etc., you might start with Christina Myers-Shaffer's The Principles of Literature; if you can find a used copy of Perrine and Arp's Sound and Sense, that should prepare you very well.

My favorite grammar book remains Karen Elizabeth Gordon's The Deluxe Transitive Vampire: A Handbook of Grammar for the Innocent, the Eager, and the Doomed. Your local library should have it, or you might be able to find a used copy.

Between the cliff's note book and using other people's cards on quizlet, I'm confident I passed the test - it seemed ridiculously easy.

There were a couple terms/books that weren't in my studying though (and I didn't see them listed on the recommended helpful pages posted here either). I recommend making sure you know the terms on chompchomp even though there isn't much grammar on the test.

I only had to analyze one poem, and though I didn't know the answer, I did know from Cliff's notes what the author's poems usually were, and went with that.

    Sounds promising, Toak.

    Interesting username, I must say...

Got my score today - 195/200

Considering I've lost a lot of memory from the past few years, and so most of this I just relearned, I'm sure you'll be fine with just Cliff's.
