Just curious..my district in CT pays Teachers $85.00 a day and Para Subs $60.00!

EDIT******Its been years since I have been a Sub and I just found out today that Para Subs now make $70.00 a day...a Sub let me know they got a $10 (per day) raise 2 years ago.

    Thanks:)

Between $68-75, depending on the district. When I was an LTS, it bumped to $184 per day beginning my 21st day. Subs are hired by a third party company

In 2005-2006, back when districts employed their own subs, regular subs made $75 and certified subs made $85.

I think it went up with the new contract but subs made $150 a day. Sub Paras make $130.

$85 per day here. I've never worked anywhere that got subs for paras...I wish we did! It always messes up everyone's schedule when they're out, and since they don't have to write sub plans they tend to use their sick/personal days more than teachers do.

I teach in two districts. In the first it's 90 per day for the first 30 days, 120 per day after that. The second is $65 per day...which is just ridiculous.

    my districts pay $115, $125, and $150.

The districts at the $115 and $150 rate are constant for all full day jobs, regardless of how many periods you work.

The middle district is usually $125, but has four rates depending on the job, and tops out at $192.

I'm out of touch with it, but when I was subbing 15 years ago it was over $150/day; I think it's closer to $250/day now.

$60 full day $30 half day...I know that's barely minimum wage.

Depending on the school district, 85-105 per day for subs. Not sure about para subs; never really looked into doing that so I don't know :)

My county has a three levels of pay depending on your certification and education level. It ranges between $94 to $64 per day.

Ours are 75-85 depending on certification. I think LTS get more, but it's not much more.

In NYC subs make $149 as per diem teachers. It could be a little more today. I left the substitute job in April 2008 after almost 8 years. Subbing is a nice part-time job but not to live on.

I teach in Ontario, Canada. Substitute teachers make $225/day. If they receive a long term assignment, they get paid the rate they would be making if they were a permanent teacher, which is based on their seniority with the board, and their qualifications.

My district pays around $100 per day, more if you're subbing at an at-risk school and more if you're long-term.
