Switching to Title 1

    We have a fairly small district and association, and there is a good relationship between the two. I’m sure it would be fine to simply ask. That said, I’m not concerned about how the Title I money is being spent. I’m sure that it’s being put to good use. I actually appreciate the fact that it’s not as obvious as calling someone a Title I teacher. I don’t think it’s necessary or helpful to label someone’s role that way, and it doesn’t bother me at all that the Title I funding is being mixed in with other funding sources.

    I would make sure that this counts as a year for your step (salary increase) and retirement. I would also make sure you are paid a teacher salary. Lastly, I would ask about the stability of the position.
