I studied the Praxis II Middle School Mathematics book. It was good preparation but to feel comfortable with it all requires a lot of spare time. Best of luck to you!

Does anyone know if the test results will arrive before the March registration date?

    Praxis II: Middle School Mathematics

I *thought* I replied to this. I studied PRAXIS II: Middle School Mathematics (0069) - (REA): The Best Teachers' Test Prep (Test Preps) (Paperback)
by Mel Friedman (Author), The Staff of REA (Author)

    Best of luck!

I took the GACE MS Math which just like the Praxis MS Math and the unofficial scores will be available online on February 11th.

    Luck!

sasyteach, if you sign up to retake a test before the results come back, I believe that Praxis, on recording a passing result for you, will automatically cancel your registration and refund the fees to your credit card account. Does that help?

took the test on 12 th Jan, nj

    Hello,
I too attempted this test, and this was my 3rd time. I thought I had studied and prepared a lot. But I have a feeling it is not going to help. The test was easy, but too lengthy to complete. The questions were too long. I had 143 last time. I studiesw from REA Math, praxisiimath Q papers, XAM Middle School Tests, SAT, middle school maths, Regents Prep. But I have a bad feeling. Do you teach ???

I took the Praxis MS Math test last weekend. It was my first time taking it. I teach 5th grade but want to move up to the middle school. I started to study around Thanksgiving. I used two really good websites: library.thinkquest.org (math for morons like us) and purplemath.com. I also used ETSs study guide. Personally, I feel that book was a waste of money because all you get out of it is a list of skills to study, but you can find that info on the free practice test online. In addition I used my son's algebra book. He's in 8th grade, but is taking freshman algebra. As far as the test, let me start by saying I haven't had any math classes for quite a few years. If you don't use it you lose it! I had to refresh my memory on a lot of stuff and was feeling quite discouraged. But, I figured I'd take it and at least see what it was like. I think they need to give more time to take the test. I finished the MC questions and started the constructed response with about 25 min. left. I completed all of the 1st question and most of the 2nd. I looked at the 3rd to try to get something done on it, but as far as I got was copying the table. I know this test is scored kinda funky so I'm not sure if I passed. I sure hope I did!

We'll hope you won't need a next time... but if you do, try scanning the constructed responses first, just to see what's out there.

Scrapbookjunky, do you feel that those websites prepared you well for this test?

Analystoteacher, yes, I feel those websites prepared me well. Based on what I studied/reviewed using them, there were no surprises on the test.

Thanks! I've been using those sites as well. I've been going through the ETS Praxis objectives and studying the topics listed. I also bought exams from praxismathexam.com. I hope that's sufficient.

Way to go, sasyteach! Don't neglect to celebrate your accomplishment (and don't try to pass it off as pure luck, please: that so doesn't happen).

    Did Not Pass :-(

I didn't pass. I think I am most disappointed because I just didn't want to take it again. Anyway, I know I have to. Good job, Sassyteach!

Was it Praxis you were taking, WTMSM827, or GACE?

I took both the high school and middle school math Praxis exams, and I was pleased with the study material at www.praxisiimath.com

Took this yesterday. Much easier than expected. If you can handle SAT Math questions, this is a breeze

    Math 0069 Praxis

Hi, I took the Middle Level Math Praxis in November 2008 and received a 0 in my constructed responses. I finished 2 of my constructed responses and had 6 pages of showing my work and I know that my answers were correct. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am appealing the results of the test because I feel that I should not have gotten a 0 in the constructed response section. In addition, I'm having trouble figuring out how the raw points calculate into my total score. Does anyone know where to find this information?
