Hey, I wanted to run this by a few of you more experienced teachers. I've been thinking about the largeness of my class sizes. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep track of who did what, who is doing what, where that paper ball came from etc. I was thinking about reorganizing my classroom so that it's a bunch of table groups. I'd push my desks together to make groups of 4 students and I'd assign who was in each group. This might be a bit elementary but I often have trouble figuring keeping track of so many kids at once. Small groups of 4 might be better for me to keep track of. I also thought that this would help me out because I could control who is in the groups and make sure I don't have certain students with other students. What are your thoughts on this? Would it work for my high schoolers? I thought it would be good to have them come up for their groups and keep a point tally of some sort for each team, then allow that team to get a special treat or something nice. Let me know! I know the first year is almost up but I'm continually trying out new things.
