    Hello,
I am a senior in college. I have just taken athe Praxis 1 test math and reading, and I am currently awaiting my writing scores.(keeping fingers crossed.) I am a Theatre major and was wondering if there are any Drama teachers out there that would be willing to give me some advice.

    I have questions such as;
    1. How hard was it to find a teaching position?
    2. What is the most common problem encountered in teaching Drama?

I have several more, but I don't want to bombard anyone.

    Thanks
    Ga

Welcome to A to Z, ghemrick04! Bombard away: people here are pretty generous with answers and suggestions.

There are several subforums under the TeacherChat Special Interest Forums that discuss the job search and related issues. You can get there by using the Forum Jump tool at the bottom of the page.

This Secondary Education subforum is a good place for questions about the teaching process itself.

    Again, welcome!

    HI and welcome!

I'm not a Drama teacher. But I did coach Speech & Debate for 18 years-- being willing to coach and having a background in Drama might help your chances at hiring time.

This might be a place to start: http://www.ncfl.org/

Hang on and I'll get you the other national league. Here it is:http://www.nflonline.org/Main/HomePage

    Thank you so much.
I never thought of going that route.
    I love the websites.

And now that Nationals are over, I bet the coaches would be more than willing to help get you started if you e-mail.

If either of them has a membership list, why not take a look at the schools in your area?
