I have not. The scores are suppose to come out 10-14 business days after the testing Window. Last time I took it, they came out exactly 10 days after. I think that's the 27th (tomorrow).

No, not yet! I think I read somewhere that it should post tomorrow?? I'm hoping so because the deadline for the APPEL program is tomorrow, and my score is all that I am waiting on!

Really? That is strange since they usually post them on normal business days...

I called them and they said the scores would be released either today or tomorrow by 5 pm eastern time.

So disappointed....I received a 151 and I had 18 and 13 on the raw. Can anyone explain exactly how it works? I have taken it multiple times scoring in the 150s on three different occasions. I am so frustrated. I also just lost out on a job.

I also scored a 151! It is very frustrating. Mine was 21 and 10. I thought it was 21 and 19 when I saw the scores at the end of my test, but I guess I saw it wrong?

Are you planning to retake it? I am registered to take it again on June 6th. I am going to go back over pretty much what I studied the last time, I suppose. I cannot think of what questions stumped me on the last test, but I was finishing up an 18 hour semester at the time. My studying is starting back tomorrow, so hopefully next time will be the score that I need! My scaled score did increase by 19 points, but it was the first time that I had actually halfway studied for the test, so that does make me feel better.

Yes!! I'm going to retake it the 11th. I'm going to start studying tonight. I'm shooting for a high score, because I'm disappointed in myself. I made a few dumb errors that I realized after the test. I also need to study my set theory and logic. The test was really a blur to me at the end. The majority of my issue was time management.

I had time management issues on previous tests, but I was calm and relaxed on this test. The next will be my 5th time to take it! I'm really tired of shelling out the money for it, but eventually it will pay off. The first 3 times I took it, I was working on finishing my degree and had absolutely no time to study for it. There were some that I was not sure how to work, so I would make the best educated guess and then mark it for review. I did not have time to go back to those questions at the end to try to figure them out though. Well, good luck and hopefully we all ace it next time!!!!

Condolences for those who didn't do as well as they wanted - I don't know if condolences is the right word - just feel for you and wish you luck on the next one.

In the past 32 would scale to right at 160; a lot of you had 31 that scaled to 151 so perhaps this was an "easy" edition of the test, or perhaps that 1 extra question gets you 9 points on the scale.

My score report said I got 41 for a scaled 174 - I also misremembered. So ten raw points (41-31) resulted in a 23 point scaling difference. They no longer give out Recognition of Excellence for the 5161 but this would have gotten it on the old version of the HS Math test (5061).

This is the second test I took, 6 weeks after the first test, when I scored in the 140s. So don't despair!

Look on the other thread I started for suggestions on study guides but what I did basically was to (1) learn to use my graphing calculator and (2) memorize a few things and WRITE THEM DOWN on the scrap paper once I start the test but before I even looked at the questions - there were only a few formulae, mnemonics that I wanted and were not on the provided formula sheet, so I tried to remember them, read them over in the parking lot and then wrote it down at the start of the exam; took 2 minutes and then I proceeded to take the test without worrying about whether I remembered the formula correctly when a question called for applying it. Examples of what I wrote down included things like (a) what makes a matrix invertible (b) graphs of when parabolas have real, double or complex roots (c) graphs of function transformations and standard formula and which parts of standard formula would cause the transformation [up/down, left/right, flipped] and (d) what is going on with f(x) when the first derivative is +, -, or 0; what is going on when 2nd derivative is +,-,0 [concave up, concave down, inflection].

Most everything I wrote down I knew in my head and could apply while doing the practice test - getting it down on paper before the actual test just made taking the test more comfortable.

I ran out of time on the first test - I even left a question unanswered - but I exited the test early on the 2nd test.

Finally, in my review/study for the test I realized there were a few areas that would take a lot of time for little gain. I understood conceptually integrating a function but refreshing my understanding of the mechanics of it took a long, long time. So I made the decision to not study this part and guess when the question came up. Same was true for remembering trig identities. On my 2nd test there was only 3 or 4 questions covering this subject, and one was conceptual that I amy 99% sure I got right. The other ones I just guessed quickly and moved on.

Good luck to everyone going forward.

Hugs to AM14, vmachine, and funkymom. It's frustrating not to pass, but 151 means you've got the chops to beat this thing.

ReverseSpin, congratulations! Very well done! And thanks for your generosity in sharing your process.

Did you say that you had a provided formula sheet for the exam?

Thank you! I plan on kicking the tests butt the second time around. I'll use those tips. I started writing things down I thought I'd need during the test directions.

Since this topic's title is so broad, I suppose it's okay to post my question here. If not, please let me know, and I'll be sure to make a new topic for future questions.

I was wondering about how accurate is the practice test that I bought from ETS during registration? I scored a 53/60 (38/41 for Numb+Quant/Algebra/Functions/Calculus, 15/19 for Geometry/Prob+Stats/Discrete) on it, and according to the many posts on this thread, that would be more than enough for a pass on the real deal. I know that the ETS website said that they were "authentic" test questions, but I'd like a second opinion from someone who used the practice test and then took the real test.

Yes - I'm talking about the on-screen formula sheet, which you're probably aware of.

If I remember correctly it was one of the tabs available after you click on the "Help" button. The other tabs available included the on-screen graphing calculator (I much prefer to bring my own).

I found the formula sheet not all that helpful in answering the questions. I used it as a 'I don't need to memorize this' sort of study guide.

If you are unfamiliar with the provided formula sheet then look at the sample 5161 study guide by ETS. Within the 50 odd page PDF study guide they provide you the formula sheet for the actual test. You can also see it in the $20 ETS practice test.
