    Hi there!

I need some major help with centers! I'd love to know a little about those that have them in here:

What centers do you have? (subjects)
How many times a week does your class do them? How long?
How often do you change or update the activities/games?
How do you assign the groups? According to their learning level, etc?
Do you know of any good websites that have ideas for them?

ANY info you could share would be appreciated!

    Thanks :)

    Hi,
I love centers, mostly because it gives me an opportunity to work with students in smaller groups. I usually do math and reading centers. I usually update the activities once my students have all rotated through each activity.

I always assign the groups. I do it based on their skills and levels. If you want to do varied groups so that stronger students can help the weaker students, that is one way of doing it. OR, you can set it up as such that you pair weaker students together so that you know where to garner attention and modify certain stations and specific times.

    Good luck :)

    Learning centers help.

I have several that I use. First off, we have a "story card" box, from which they can pick their level and pace. We use iPads with IXL or desktops for RoomRecess.com and other ed game sites. (RR.com has some nice reading and math games). I also use a Free Write center, paired reading, spelling tiles, and board game (games that require strategy).

    Hope that helps.
