Ah. From what you'd said, I thought you needed to retake only two of the four. But experience suggests that those who are aware that there's rust to knock off are generally able to do so. In other words, breathe, please.

The major change in CSET English is that the subject matter requirements are aligned with the Common Core state standards; these call for more emphasis on informational prose and cross-curricular literacy, so you may see more questions in Subtest I that are framed in those terms (though there will still be plenty of literature). Subtest II folds literacy into language acquisition but is mostly otherwise unchanged. The Subtest III tasks are largely as they were. Newer versions of Subtest IV may substitute an analysis of a student's oral presentation for a student's creative writing - but the major tools are fairly similar. Oh, and references to technology may be updated.

When are you taking Subtest II?

Ugh. I am scheduled for January 11. And thank you for the information. It is very helpful. I have thought about rescheduling but at the same time, I was thinking with some brushing up I might do fine. I just don't know where, or how, to brush up. I was never really good with the study guides last time but I did pass test 2 on the first try. So, any other suggestions?

Nicole Fong from Teacher's Test Prep. Pricey but worth it. Have her go over your answers to the practice questions,

    Hi,
I don't know how old this post is, but if you passed all 4 CSET's five years ago, they are now valid again. they Changed the validity date from 5 to 10 years. No need to take them again! Good luck!

Good point. I'd recommend doublechecking with the local county office of education, just to make sure. (Why the COE, or in the case of Orange County the Department of Education? Real live credential analysts are on staff.)

Thanks banana, it's good to know that I don't have to take it for 10 years. I took English CSET subtest 3 on 7/7 and passed.

Hey there TeacherGroupie, picking up on this 10-year-old thread (!) - it is essential that I pass CSET III during my next go-around. Are you still available for distance tutoring? I'd love to work with someone so knowledgeable.
