I have to do a research project for grad school. My topic is mental disorders and how they affect literacy in children. I have to find 8 research articles from 2000-2007 and I am having the hardest time finding them. Any ideas? Any help? Anyone? I'm hating this semester. :help:

Through your school do you not have access to EBSCO or something of that nature? I can go to my college's website, click on their library page, out in a password, and get access to thousands upon thousands of articles...

Is the problem that you're having trouble getting leads on eight articles, or that you've found REFERENCES to eight but not the articles themselves?

My local library provided me access to several databases that are filled with articles. Some are only the abstracts, but I still found a ton that I could print off.

The problem that I'm having is finding 8 articles that are within these parameters. Yes, I'm using EBSCO through the school it's great it has access to sooooo many articles, I'm just having difficulty finding 8 of them that are research based and within the past 7 years on this topic. I don't know it might be just me. But I did a full on thesis with these same parameters 2 years ago and didn't have this much trouble. I'm thinking maybe this topic just doesn't have a lot of research out there?

What are you using by way of search terms?

OK, I just went to www.findarticles.com and typed in 'mental disorders and literacy' and got some hits that look like they are worth checking. Have you tried that?

I did not try that, I didn't know about that site. I'll go check it out now, thanks!!

My search terms have been memory disoders, literacy, comprehension, school. I tried just memory without the disorder but it brought about 5 million articles that were no good.
