Hello! I'm new to the site, and I am so thankful to have found people who are in the same boat I am. Congrats to those who have passed the CSET... I hope that you can share your knowledge to those (like me) who are struggling to pass. I passed two parts of the CSET, however, I have been struggling with the math/science. I just took the March 19 exam and missed it by 3 points! I have tried practically everything: Prep books, a $325 crash course (I do not recommend), private tutoring, study buddies, and individual studying. I have put in countless amounts of time, energy, and money into this test. I am re-taking the math/science portion in May (this will be my 7th try) and can use any help I can get, whether it's prayers, tips, or helpful study guides. According to my previous score report, I seemed to have missed more math questions than science. I have used 3 different study guides (including Cliffs, Barrons, and REA) and could use other resources that offer more math practice for the CSET. If anyone has website ideas or book ideas, please let me know! For those who are also looking for additional prep books, here is what I've found helpful so far: 1. Cliffs Math Review for Standardized Tests - This book has many similar problems that you will encounter on the CSET, along with detailed explanations. It takes the practice questions from the prep books a step further. This book can be purchased cheap on Amazon. I bought my copy used for about $5.00. 2. No Nonsense Knowldege: Earth Science by Edward F. Albin, Ph. D. - This books offers simple explanations for topics in Earth Science. It provides more detailed explanations than the "Everything you Need to Know About Science" book. I bought my copy at Borders, however, I'm sure you can purchase a used copy off of Amazon or half.com. Good luck to everyone who is studying for the May 21st exam!
