I found a great job but it closed a few days ago. It is still posted on the school's website. Is it a waste of time to still apply? The job closed the 18th of this month. I have the time tonight to still apply but I am not sure if I should.

    Thanks!

Absolutely still apply. No harm can come of it, might as well give it a go.

    Good luck!

Apply! I saw the posting for the job I currently have and completely ignored it cause it was a couple of months old and thought that it was filled. I applied for other positions the district had and got a call for the posting I didn't apply to and another position. I got lucky that I got offered both positions. So, even though a posting is up or old, apply, you never know!!

That's good! It is for a middle school job in Illinois so I REALLY want to apply and have the opportunity to get it. There are actually two open middle school positions so I am excited to actually see open positions!

What better use do you have for the time it would take to apply?

There is none but I wasn't sure if it would be negatively held against for applying after the date. Something like I couldn't follow directions. I am currently applying for it now. I am having a happy moment because I just got my license number online so I can FINALLY put that on an application. :D

It won't be looked at negatively, but it might not be looked at at all.:( make sure your cover expresses interest and let them know that you JUST found out about the potential openings...good luck.
