Feew, you're not a Yankees Fan! I just couldn't talk to you again if you were!
God Bless you I was there in '69. I took home a piece of turf from around second base (outfield) I kept it growing for 10 years in a window planter.
Now that was a year of Woodstock and then the Mets won.
Before the Mets I was a Red Sox fan. Carl Yastrzemski was from Long Island.

When I started Teaching I was 22 I had 2 High school girls chasing me around the school I had to hide and take other hallways (they were 18 and 17).
You will survive just stay focused and professional.
As an aside, I find that most Mets fans are Red Sox fans, like myself.
Also, heels have done me a lot of good this year as a lot of my 8th grade boys are taller than me. It's funny to say this, but it's a lot more difficult to discipline someone you have to look up to...

Somehow I don't think the heels would've done our boy Irishdave much good...
wait this was 1974 Disco was starting I wore platform shoes the sole was an Inch and the heels were 3 inches I was 6 foot tall then
Platforms? I could never wear 'em: the extra elevation gave me nosebleed.
I'm not anti-Yankee, just a big Mets fan. And Bill Buchner is my hero (sorry!!!!!)
And I had a friend in HS who had apiece of the outfield growing in his yard too!

OMG--I had to laugh at your post because it reminded me of my second year teaching. I was subbing in a middle school, and an 8th grader girl who proudly wore her hall monitor badge asked me for my hall pass!
Everytime someone tells me I look young for my age I always try to think of the positive. When I'm 60 I should look like I could really be 45! Although I don't know how much younger I can really look since I'm in my mid twenties.
